Throne and Liberty: Spear Dagger (Shadow Dancer) Guide

Welcome to my Throne and Liberty Spear Dagger, also known as the Shadow Dancer guide! In this guide, I’ll walk you through both PvE and PvP builds, covering gears, skills, and rotation strategies. I’ve been playing with the Spear Dagger since its release, and I also make use of the Throne and Liberty Lucent to enhance my gameplay experience. After spending time refining my build, I’m excited to share my setup with you. Let’s dive in!

Overview of the Spear Dagger (Shadow Dancer)

The Spear Dagger (Shadow Dancer) class is a highly mobile assassin, excelling at getting behind enemy lines to take down ranged DPS characters. Much like the Greatsword Dagger combo, the Spear Dagger focuses on high evasion and burst damage, but with a primary focus on range and magic evasion. Here’s a breakdown of what we’ll cover:

· PvP Builds: Range Magic Evasion & Melee Range Evasion

· PvE Build

· Skill Build & Rotation

· Gear Recommendations

· PvP Combat Tips

PvP Gear Builds

1. Range Magic Evasion Build (Large-Scale PvP)

The range magic evasion build is ideal for large-scale PvP battles, where surviving in the enemy backline is critical. This build maximizes evasion and HP to ensure you can stay alive long enough to eliminate high-priority targets like ranged DPS (e.g., bow users, mages, crossbows).

Key Components:

· Armor: Full leather gear for maximum evasion.

o Harvester Set for added damage.

o Phantom Chest and Pants for evasion and stats.

o Tapes 3 for magic evasion.

o Soroa Set for range evasion.

o Quicks for additional magic evasion.

Stat Distribution:

· 70 Dexterity: This increases your evasion rate.

· 60 Strength: Maximizes HP without investing heavily in strength, giving you around 1k extra HP.

· Weapon: Rex Daggers (12 Dexterity, high HP, easy to craft).

Why Rex Daggers Over Kazan Daggers?

While Kazan Daggers provide extra crit, they sacrifice critical HP and strength. Rex Daggers offer 12 Dexterity (evasion), and more importantly, they allow for a high HP pool, which is essential for staying alive in the backline during large-scale PvP.

· Damage Comparison: Spear damage will be the focus, as your Spear skills are your primary source of damage. Crit from Kazan isn’t essential with the 70 Dexterity, and you’ll already have good crit chances.

Evasion Stats (Without Runes):

· Range Evasion: ~1.5k

· Magic Evasion: ~1.6k

With Shadow Walker:

· Range Evasion: 2.2k

· Dodge Rate: With Victorious Energy and Nimble Step buffs, you’ll have about 50% dodge rate against average range hits.

2. Melee Range Evasion Build (Small-Scale PvP)

For smaller-scale PvP, where you need to be more offensive and less evasive, this build leans more into melee range evasion. It’s great for getting into close quarters, burst killing, and surviving while engaging enemies head-on.

Key Components:

· Armor: Similar to the range magic build but with an emphasis on Melee Range Evasion and Melee Damage.

· Stats:

o 70 Dexterity for evasion.

o 50 Strength for more DPS and decent HP.

Evasion (Without Runes):

· Melee Range Evasion: ~1.9k

· Magic Evasion: ~1.4k

· Post-Nimble Step Buff: 2k to 2.4k evasion.

PvE Build (Boss DPS)

While the Spear Dagger is optimized for PvP, you can also use it for PvE content like dungeon runs and boss fights. The key difference in PvE is that you'll be focusing more on auto-attacks and mana management since many Spear skills consume a lot of mana.

Gear Setup for PvE:

For PvE, I use a combination of General Set, Harvester, and Phantom Chest to get the most out of my DPS while managing my mana.

· General Set (2 pieces): This provides balanced stats.

· Harvester Set (2 pieces): This gives a good amount of damage boost.

· Phantom Chest (for evasion and stat increases).

DPS Rotation (For Bosses):

Spear is used for auto-attacks, but for optimal DPS, you’ll want to focus on Spear skills. Here’s the skill rotation for maximum output:

1. Start Buffing:

o Poison (activates the poison effect).

o Sentinel (increases defense).

o F Stigma (instant cast to weave in-between rotations).

2. Primary DPS Rotation:

o Phoenix Barrage (increases ignite stacks and crit damage buff).

o Slaughtering Slash (consumes ignite stacks for high burst damage).

o Explosive Fury (massive damage to multiple enemies).

o Flaming Arc (damage with burn effect).

3. Filler Skills:

o Brutal Incision (strong single-target burst damage).

o Javelin (use as filler between cooldowns).

o Moonlight Frenzy (secondary filler when nothing else is available).

Mana Management:

The Spear Dagger build is mana-hungry, especially when using Explosive Fury and Javelin Inferno. Here’s how you can manage mana in PvE:

· Fountain of Life: Healers can place this down to recover 40 mana per tick. Stay in the fountain during boss fights for almost infinite mana.

· Mana Regen Gear: A 60 Mana Regen bracer will suffice if you have a healer using the fountain.

PvP Skill Build & Rotation

In PvP, your job is to burst down enemy ranged DPS, especially mages, archers, and other backline support units. Here's an optimal skill build for small and large-scale PvP.

Core Skills:

· Sentinel: Provides a shield and defense.

· Shadow Strike (Max Range): This is your primary opener for initiating fights. Follow up with Ankle Strike and Phoenix Barrage for the burst.

· Explosive Fury: Use when you need area damage, especially if the enemy runs away.

· Javelin: Use for gap closing or to finish off fleeing enemies.

Opening Rotation:

1. Shadow Strike → Ankle Strike → Phoenix Barrage (apply 15% crit buff).

2. Follow up with Explosive Fury (for AoE damage).

3. If they retreat, use Javelin or Rising Slash to gap close.

Situational Skills:

· Stigma: Use this for damage and healing reduction.

· Tempest Strike (Directional): Counter stealth or engage in high-damage fights.

· Death From Above / Havoc: Gap closer skills for large-scale fights.

Additional Tips:

· When engaging multiple enemies in large-scale PvP, aim to get 5 Amber stacks before using Lightning Infusion and Thunder Spirit for AoE damage with Javelin.

Conclusion

The Spear Dagger (Shadow Dancer) is a highly versatile and evasive assassin, excelling in both PvP and PvE content. By focusing on evasion and mana efficiency, you can become a formidable threat in large-scale PvP or a reliable damage dealer in boss fights. Whether you prefer range magic evasion for large-scale PvP or a more aggressive melee range evasion setup for small-scale battles, this guide provides the tools you need to optimize your build.
