Throne and Liberty: Spear/Dagger Build Guide for PVE and PVP

Hello everyone, today I bring you a popular guide for spear/dagger builds in Throne and Liberty. I decided to do a comprehensive analysis. I spent a lot of time trying different builds to bring you some solid builds, but remember that the spear is still a relatively new profession, so there is always room for improvement. MMOEXP is the hottest trading market at the moment, and players are able to buy Throne and Liberty Lucent and quickly build their favorite mid-spear/dagger build.

Think of this guide as a foundation that you can adjust and experiment with, rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.

PVE Build Overview

Let’s dive into PVE first. The build I’m currently running is focused on maximizing damage output while maintaining a balance between survivability and sustainability. Spear excels in burst and sustained damage, especially when you get the rotation down.

Stats and Gear

For PVE, I’ve found the following stat distribution to be effective:

· 32 Wisdom: This ensures you don’t run into any mana issues. With this build, you’ll be casting quite a bit, so managing mana is crucial.

· 50 Strength and 50 Dexterity: Strength is mandatory for maximizing your damage, while Dexterity boosts your critical chance. If your crit chance is already high (1K or more), you can drop Dexterity slightly, but ideally, it should remain at 50 for the endgame build.

· 40 Perception: Perception helps with buff duration and is great for extending your poison-related abilities, so you should aim to reach 40 in this stat.

Key Note: This setup is tailored for single-target encounters like Co-op dungeons and Gate of Infinity. However, remember this build can be adjusted to fit your playstyle.

Single-Target Rotation

For single-target fights, here’s my tried-and-true rotation. It works wonders in PVE dungeons, Dimensional Trials, and boss fights:

1. Inject Venom – Apply poison to your target.

2. Umbrell Spirit – Boost damage against poisoned targets. I recommend choosing the additional damage increase for poison attacks from this skill’s skill pick effect.

3. Unyielding Sentinel – Pop this to boost attack speed.

4. Dash – Dash to gain attack speed and position yourself optimally.

5. Phoenix Barrage – Your primary damage-dealing skill. It does massive damage and is a core part of your rotation.

6. Explosive Fury – Use this to continue dealing damage and finish off the target.

7. Flaming Arc – Another powerful skill to add extra damage.

8. Slaughtering Slash – Use after stacking your damage for maximum effect.

9. Fatal Stigma – Optionally, use this before Slaughtering Slash for a damage boost.

10. Brutal Incision – A finishing move to close out the rotation.

Additional Notes:

· Always ensure that poison is up for maximum damage boost.

· Javelin Inferno can be used as a filler when cooldowns are up.

· Cleaving Moonlight is also a good filler skill, especially in multi-target situations.

AOE Grinding Rotation

For AOE grinding, this build shines. You’ll have incredible sustain and life steal, plus great AOE damage. Here’s what you need to focus on:

1. Lightning Infusion – Keep this up for the increased AOE damage.

2. Thunder Spirit – Provides additional AOE damage. Keep this active.

3. Blood Leach Aura – Keep this up before you start using burst skills, as it will sustain your HP and mana.

4. Explosive Fury – Start the burst.

5. Javelin Inferno – This skill is incredible for AOE. Use it on groups of enemies for huge damage.

6. From here, you can use skills like Phoenix Barrage or Slaughtering Slash to mop up any remaining targets.

This build makes you unkillable in sustained fights, especially with the life steal from Blood Leach Aura. You can pull massive packs of mobs and still finish the grind with full health and mana. Key Tip: Always keep your Blood Leach Aura up to sustain your HP, and be mindful of your cooldowns.

PVP Build Overview

When it comes to PVP, the Spear/Dagger build plays a lot differently than in PVE. You’ll be dealing with burst damage and quick rotations, focusing on high mobility and stuns.

Small-Scale PvP

For small-scale PVP (e.g., 1v1 or 3v3), your primary role is to be a burst damage dealer. You’ll rely heavily on mobility and positioning to maximize your effectiveness.

1. Lightning Infusion – Always start with this for the burst potential.

2. Umbrell Spirit – Apply this to increase your damage against targets.

3. Shadow Strike – Use this to lock down your target. It’s better than Fatal Stigma because it can hit multiple enemies in its range, stunning them in place.

4. Phoenix Barrage – Follow up with this for massive damage.

5. Explosive Fury – Use this if you need to finish off an enemy quickly.

6. Rising Slash or Flaming Arc – These can be used for follow-up damage if the target survives your initial burst.

For small-scale engagements, Javelin Inferno is not always necessary, especially if the enemy is split. However, if you’re facing multiple opponents, Javelin Inferno can clear out groups of enemies quickly.

Large-Scale PvP

In large-scale PVP, you’re going to be engaging in massive group fights where positioning and timing are key. Here’s how I approach large-scale PVP as a Spear/Dagger:

1. Explosive Fury – Start with this to initiate the fight. This will help you set up Javelin Inferno.

2. Javelin Inferno – The real star of your AOE damage. Use it to hit as many targets as possible in the blob.

3. Umbrell Spirit – Apply this to all enemies in the area to maximize damage.

4. Phoenix Barrage – Use this as an additional AOE burst.

5. Rak Havoc – If enemies are blocking or evading, this skill can stun them and break their defenses.

Important Tip: Always ensure you have a healer with you, as Spear/Dagger builds can be squishy in large-scale engagements. You can invisibility out of dangerous situations or reposition if things go south.

Positioning and Team Coordination

When engaging in mass PVP, positioning is crucial. A Spear can dive in with the Death from Above skill, but be mindful of the long charging time and the fact that the skill can be interrupted. You’ll want to wait for the right moment to dive into the fray, ideally when enemies are distracted or separated. Once in the air, you’re immune to most control effects, so use that time to do as much damage as possible.

Key Skills for Mass PVP:

· Explosive Fury

· Javelin Inferno

· Death from Above

· Invisibility (for escaping risky situations)
