The GM of an Alliance Guild

Jun-15-2022 PST Category: WOW TBC Classic

As the General Manager of the Alliance Guild...it was the demise of the Horde guild which really upset me.

Hounds of Tindalos has been playing on the Myzrael server from Day One of Classic. We were able to race through the crowds in Elwynn as it was launching and we rejoicing over the small details of classic and watched the action unfold as guilds took part in guild-related activities. We gathered through our community Discord, Horde and Alliance and we performed everything that communities do. We fought, we argued We watched whole soap operas played.

It was an amazing experience.

While playing, we talked and traded. We had one man that everyone knows because they all know him from the Trade channel (Danlord). There were the best guilds that were always pushing the boundaries We had the early morning raiding guild that nobody ever spoke to, and guilds which you just...didn't have dungeons in with.

There were trolls and our famous people, who we would greet when they passed us because we thought of "That one bizarre UBRS running" and other people we did not bother to ignore.

We were part of an entire community.

Then AQ appeared and...Oh...My...God.

The battles over the spawn! The ranting in 1! The camaraderie and anger, both within and between guilds, was astonishing to watch in within Alliance Horde and Alliance Horde the atmosphere was more amazing!

In the background of Myzrael we arranged all of Discord to ensure that everyone who wanted get their bug mount helped and we scheduled when the gates were opened to make sure it happened in a time to allow everyone to take part. Horde and Alliance joined forces to care for our community members and it was a success. Many people who never would have been able to be present for the goings-on in normal circumstances were able to attend because our community made it HAPPEN.

I've never been more happy with the people that I play with in this game.

AQ and Naxx have been and gone and when TBC began to roll in, the usual levels of "Meh it's not my favourite extension" and "Man I'm exhausted by all the Naxx!" took it's toll. Our server population declined. It wasn't massively...but it slowed down from being health to "Have you had a recent dose of vitamins".

Recently in the last few months, as the tendency towards Mega-servers has risen (Which isn't a favorite with most of the people I have played alongside), Myzrael (And other servers) have been unable to keep up with demand. While it's not an active server the perception of a lack of activity has led to a chain reaction of guilds struggling to recruit. So they transfer...and which makes it difficult to recruit...and consequently, another guild moves.

And , with them...each group is able to take a piece of our community along with it.

A tiny part in the mental soul Myzrael.

It culminated when Nox Terrorem, one of the Horde guilds we played with and along side so fiercely...left. The team of Raid clearing the top 3 spots in the competition on the server, Bad-Asses quit our server. It wasn't because they failed but due to their inability to take charge of their employees as they would like to. They were accountable towards their staff and could not do it on the departing Horde side, meet it.

And so...another part of Myzraels soul was taken away from us.

Myzrael isn't dying. Hounds of Tindalos isn't leaving. Our community is in a state of distress and our souls are being depleted.

For the Humans who manage Blizzard and decide these things...

As someone who cherishes our community more than any server or piece of crap...

Help your servers with low populations. Merge us, do a retail and pair us together...something.

You've made a world which we've created memories. We've made acquaintances and shared adventures, and become heroes who have saved the world.

We are now asking you to become the Hero's.
