How to Be a Millionaire in New World
Where We Left Off
By the time we hit level 55, we'd accumulated gold and had some solid trading skills. It would have been a decent start, but I still managed to hop in once in a while to grab some daily gold bags and have my character do a few quick treasure chest runs. Now it was time to get back into the grind of making money.
Testing the Daily Expedition Bonus
One of the best tips came from MLV, who suggested taking advantage of the daily random expedition gold rewards. According to them, you can complete up to three per day for 750 gold each, or 1,000 gold if you play as a healer or tank.
I was skeptical, as the gold rewards have been problematic in the past, but I decided to give it a try. MLV also shared a trick: getting your gear score down to 250-300 before queuing up ensures you get the Amrine Excavation, one of the fastest-to-complete expeditions. Once in, you can re-equip your gear and rush through it.
I tested this, and while the trick worked, I didn't receive the gold - probably because I hadn't reached level 65 yet. So, I shelved it and went back to doing the quests to reach max level first.
Hitting Level 65
While grinding XP and gold through questing, I also managed to snag a useful bag upgrade that will be invaluable in future money-making strategies. With the Winter Convergence Festival ending, I converted my remaining Winter Tokens into Scarlet Nogs to maximize profits. I sold 366 nogs at market value before the event ended, ensuring I didn’t lose potential earnings.
Questing continued as I defeated Empress Zhou, Isabella, and made my way to Brimstone Sands. I opted to follow the Silver Crows questline instead, as it rewards another powerful bag upgrade.
After a total playtime of 1 day, 3 hours, and 27 minutes, I finally hit Level 65! With the questing grind complete, I could now focus entirely on making gold.
Cashing In and Preparing for the Next Step
To celebrate reaching max level, I opened all the coin sacks I had saved up over the months. This added a massive 8,000 gold boost, bringing my total to 31,143 coins. Now it was time to decide on the next money-making strategies.
1. Selling Loot – I listed all the items I had accumulated from coin sacks and questing in the Trading Post.
2. Retesting MLV’s Expedition Tip – Now that I was max level, I queued for another Amrine run, and this time, I received the proper gold rewards. Completing three daily expeditions for roughly 15 minutes of work nets 2,250 gold—a fantastic daily income source.
Entering the Endgame: Skinning for Gold
Since my best gathering tool was a skinning knife, I decided to start with skinning-based farming methods. One of my go-to methods is Rabbit Island farming:
· Travel to Restless Shore (Moon Bay Town) and head northeast to Rabbit Island.
· Continuously kill and skin rabbits for Rawhide, Game Meat, and Sumptuous Rabbits.
· Sumptuous Rabbits sell for around 60 gold each.
· If lucky, Rabbit’s Feet can sell for 3,500 gold each.
· Before heading out, I checked the Trading Post and upgraded my skinning knife to a 625 Gear Score version with the Lifeline perk for just 650 gold. This would allow me to earn extra Motes while skinning.
Rabbit Island: Was It Worth It?
I grinded for 30 minutes and gathered:
· 353 Rawhide
· 89 Game Meat
· Sumptuous Rabbits (worth 356 gold)
While this method can be profitable with high skinning luck, I found that my luck wasn’t high enough to make it worthwhile. If you’re attempting this, make sure you have top-tier skinning gear, luck foods, and music buffs to maximize your earnings. For those looking to enhance their gameplay, consider buying cheap New World Gold from MMOEXP to boost your resources and increase your chances of success.
Switching to Boar Farming at Bee’s Home
Since I was already in Restless Shore, I decided to pivot to Boar Farming at Bee’s Home, a method that relies more on skinning yield rather than luck.
· Travel to the Shrine of Copus in Restless Shore and head north.
· At Bee’s Home, kill the clustered boars, then skin them for Thick Hide.
· Boars respawn every 4 minutes, allowing time to gather nearby high-tier resources.
· This method offers consistent profit with minimal downtime due to frequent respawns. Additionally, the gathering nodes in the area provide extra income sources, further boosting earnings per hour.
